Classroom Climate/Expectations

1. Education is a business. My product is providing Seventh Grade Mathematics content to my clientele (my students). The success of the business is the evidence of the highest level of mastery of the content I share with you. The higher the level of student mastery and the ability to apply what has been learned in class yields a higher quality product. Therefore, our time together is our most precious resource to have a successful business. I must have students’ attention when I facilitate learning to produce a high quality product (successful, high achieving mathematics students). This can be done by being successful academically, behaviorally, and socially!

2. Be prepared to participate- We will engage in Socratic Seminars on a daily basis. Academic dialogue is a gateway to assessing ownership of one’s understanding of mathematics!

3. Be on time! Our time together is limited. Fifty minutes is a small amount of time, so we must be respectful, responsible, and resourceful with our time.

4. Be responsible for choices! Our choices prepare the foundations of our destiny. BE RESPONSIBLE!

5. Be respectful to the people, environment, and furnishing of our classroom!
